Innovative Processing: The Technological Edge of Our Sesame Oil Production Line

Date:Jan 19th, 2024
Sesame oil is highly praised for its rich flavor and numerous health benefits, often regarded as a natural salad oil. Sesame oil is particularly stable due to the presence of antioxidants such as sesamol and sesamin, making it one of the least prone to oxidation and deterioration among plant oils. If subjected to processes like alkali refining and deodorization, the stability of sesame oil may decrease. The sesame oil cake, the byproduct after oil extraction, contains abundant proteins and serves as an excellent protein additive for animal feed.

In this article, we will explore the processing of sesame oil and its key steps.

Key Stages in Sesame Oil Production:
1. Sesame Seed Cleaning and Sorting:
The production journey commences with the meticulous cleaning and sorting of sesame seeds. This ensures that only high-quality seeds proceed to the next stages of the process.

2. Roasting:
Roasting is a critical step in sesame oil production. The seeds are carefully roasted to release their distinctive nutty flavor and to facilitate the extraction of oil. The duration and temperature of roasting play a crucial role in determining the oil's final characteristics.

3. Pressing or Extraction:
Sesame oil can be extracted through cold-pressing or solvent extraction. Cold-pressing involves mechanically pressing the roasted seeds to extract oil, retaining the oil's natural flavor and nutrients. Alternatively, solvent extraction utilizes food-grade solvents to separate the oil from the seed, yielding a higher oil quantity.

4. Filtration and Clarification:
The extracted oil undergoes filtration and clarification processes to remove impurities, sediments, and any remnants from the extraction process. This enhances the oil's clarity and shelf life.

5. Refining:
Depending on the desired end product, some sesame oils undergo refining processes to further purify the oil and remove any remaining impurities or odors.

6. Packaging:
The final step involves packaging the sesame oil in various formats, from bottles to bulk containers, ready for distribution to consumers or industrial users.
