Dingsheng Machine | Canola Oil Extraction Plant (10–6000 TPD Turnkey Projects)
Date:Nov 3rd, 2025
With decades of experience in edible oil processing technology, Dingsheng Machine supplies complete canola (rapeseed) oil extraction plants, from seed preparation to refining and dewaxing.
We design full production lines with capacities ranging from 10 TPD to 6000 TPD, and offer customized engineering solutions to match your local raw material and operational requirements.
Ⅰ. Pretreatment & Pressing Section
Canola oil production starts with rapeseed, typically containing around 40% oil. Proper pretreatment ensures efficient extraction and excellent oil quality.
Process Flow:
Rapeseed → Cleaning → Softening → Flaking → Cooking → Pressing → Crude Pressed Oil + Oil Cake
1. Cleaning
A complete cleaning system removes dust, stones, metal particles and other impurities using:
Magnetic separator
Destoner
Vibrating cleaner
This step protects downstream machinery and greatly improves oil quality.
2. Softening
Steam is added to adjust moisture and temperature, improving the plasticity of rapeseed.
Softening ensures:
Ideal flaking result
Reduced powder generation
Better oil release during pressing
3. Flaking
Flaking rolls compress rapeseed into thin, uniform flakes.
This step:
Breaks cellular structure
Enhances heat and moisture transfer
Prepares seeds for efficient oil pressing and solvent extraction
4. Cooking
The flaked material is heated and conditioned to:
Reduce moisture
Solidify proteins
Improve oil release
Enhance crude oil quality
Cooking is essential for seeds such as canola, sunflower, and cottonseed.
5. Pressing / Prepressing
Mechanical pressing produces:
Pressed canola oil
Press cake (ideal for solvent extraction)
For high-oil-content oilseeds, the prepressing method ensures efficient oil recovery while keeping the cake porous for the solvent extraction stage.
---
Ⅱ. Solvent Extraction Section
Process Flow:
Press Cake → Extractor → DT (Desolventizer-Toaster) → Stripping Tower → Crude Canola Oil
Solvent extraction allows maximum oil recovery from rapeseed cake.
1. Extractor
The press cake is fully immersed and percolated with solvent, dissolving the remaining oil.
The miscella (oil–solvent mixture) flows to the filtration and evaporation systems, while the meal moves to the desolventizing process.
2. Desolventizer-Toaster (DT)
The wet meal is heated to remove solvent while retaining protein quality.
Final meal can be used directly as a high-quality animal feed ingredient.
3. Stripping Tower
Indirect steam separates oil from solvent in the miscella.
Features include:
Low steam consumption
Efficient solvent recovery
Compact system design
---
Ⅲ. Refining Section
Canola oil contains more wax than many other seeds, so refining includes additional dewaxing/winterization.
Refining Steps:
1. Degumming
2. Neutralization (Deacidification)
3. Decolorization
4. Deodorization
5. Dewaxing / Winterization
The first four steps follow standard edible oil refining practice.
Dewaxing removes natural wax components to produce:
Bright appearance
Zero-haze stability at low temperatures
Premium edible-grade canola oil
---
Ⅳ. Complete Turnkey Solutions
Dingsheng Machine provides:
Engineering design
Factory layout drawing
Manufacturing & supply
Installation & commissioning
Training & after-sales support
